First of all, you have to have a passport. You can go to the exit-entry management center where your account is located. The procedure is very simple. Generally, it can be done within 14 working days.

As for visas, it depends on which country you want to endorse. Some countries have opened visa-free access to China, that is, China citizens who hold China passports do not need visas to enter and leave the country directly, such as Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

There are also some countries or regions that apply landing visa to China citizens, that is, they can apply for visas directly when they enter the country, and only need to pay a certain amount of handling fees, generally ranging from 10 to 20 dollars. For example: Bali, Jeju Island in South Korea, etc.

Of course, some of them need team travel to implement the corresponding policies.

It is highly recommended that you apply for a visa yourself, which is quite complicated. Just those forms that need to be filled out in English are a headache.

It's not expensive to let the travel agency handle it, or you can handle it through them on Ctrip. Ctrip's handling process is relatively transparent and fast. They handled my parents' visas when they went abroad. It was very convenient to pass them once.
