Citizens of China shall leave or enter the country from ports open to the outside world or designated ports, show their passports or other exit and entry certificates of the People's Republic of China to frontier inspection stations, fill in exit and entry registration cards and accept inspection.

II. Article 16: The main documents for the exit and entry of China citizens:

Passports and travel permits of the People's Republic of China shall be kept and used by the holders. Except that the public security organs and the original issuing organs have the right to revoke and confiscate the certificates according to law, and the people's procuratorates and people's courts have the right to detain the certificates according to law, no other organs, organizations, enterprises, institutions or individuals may detain the certificates.

(1) The holder is sent back to China because of illegal entry into the destination country or illegal residence;

The revocation and invalidation of passports and other exit and entry certificates shall be made by the original issuing authority or its higher authorities.
