Guangzhou Panyu Lianhua Mountain Tourist Area

The scenic spots in Panyu District include Guangzhou Changlong Tourist Resort, Panyu Lotus Mountain, Guangdong Science Center, Shawan Ancient Town and Panyu Baomo Garden.

1. Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort: It is a large enterprise group integrating tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, entertainment and leisure. It has 9 subsidiaries including Chimelong Happy World, Chimelong Water Park, Guangzhou Crocodile Park, Chimelong Hotel, Xiangjiang Hotel, Chimelong Golf Practice Center and Xiangjiang Restaurant.

2. Lotus Hill in Panyu: Located in the eastern suburb of Panyu, 20 kilometers away from Guangzhou. Lianhua Mountain, formerly known as "Shishitou", is an ancient quarry, named after the stones left after quarrying are like hibiscus.

3. Guangdong Science Center: Located at the westernmost tip of Xiaoguwei Island in Guangzhou University Town, the construction cost is 1.9 billion RMB, which took nearly 5 years to complete.

4. Shawan Ancient Town: It is named because it is located on the bank of the half-moon beach in the ancient bay. Shawan is located in the geometric center of the Pearl River Delta, separated from Panyu downtown in Guangzhou by a river in the north, looking at Dongguan and Shenzhen in the east, Zhongshan and Zhuhai in the south and Nanhai in Shunde in the west, with convenient transportation.

5. Panyu Baomo Garden: Located in Zini Village, Shawan Town, Panyu, it was built in the late Qing Dynasty, covering an area of five acres and was destroyed in the 1950s. Reconstruction in 1995 took six years and expanded to more than 100 acres, integrating Qing Palace culture, Lingnan ancient buildings, Lingnan garden art and the characteristics of the Pearl River Delta water town. The layout of buildings, gardens, landscapes and stone bridges is reasonable, harmonious and natural, forming a beautiful and spectacular scenery.

Panyu's fun and free scenic spots include: Lotus Mountain Tourist Area, Dafu Mountain, Shawan Ancient Town, Maodegong Caotang, Baomo Garden, etc. Panyu District, Guangzhou is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, in the geographical center of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, bordering Haizhu District of Guangzhou in the north, Shiziyang in the east, facing Dongguan City, Nanhai District of Foshan City, Shunde District and Zhongshan City in the west, and the Pearl River Estuary in the south, bordering Nansha District, with superior geographical position.

I. Lianhuashan Tourist Area

Lianhua Mountain, located in Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is a mountain range beside the Lion Ocean in the Pearl River Delta and the commanding height of the west bank of the Lion Ocean. Covering an area of 2.33 square kilometers, the highest peak is 108 meters above sea level, 30 kilometers away from downtown Guangzhou and 60 nautical miles away from Hong Kong. The land and water transportation is very convenient, and the Lotus Mountain Scenic Area in Guangzhou has been developed.

The red sand rock of Lianhua Mountain is of high quality, high density and fine sand. The ancients used it as a grindstone, so Lianhua Mountain is also called "Shiligang". These red sandstones are also good materials for wall foundation. According to expert appraisal, the tomb of Nanyue King, which was built more than 2,100 years ago, has 12 kinds of stones, 8 of which were collected from Lianhua Mountain. The stones mined here in those years were transported by water to Xianggang Mountain in Guangzhou.

Second, Dafu Mountain

Dafu Mountain Forest Park is located three kilometers west of Shiqiao, Panyu District, Guangzhou, across Shiqiao and Zhongcun towns, adjacent to Shunde Country Garden, and bordering Qifu New Village in the north. With a total area of about 9000 mu, it is an ecological forest park in Guangzhou. The park is surrounded by continuous mountains, and Dafu Mountain, the first peak in Panyu at an altitude of 226.6 meters. There are also large and small mountain ponds and a number of artificial lakes, thus forming a scene of ups and downs of peaks and reflections of lakes. [1] Dafu Mountain Forest Park is called "the oxygen bar of Panyu". From 1996 to 2000, Panyu District Government invested more than 100 million yuan to build Dafu Mountain Forest Park. The first phase of the project, Huguang Flower and Tree Ornamental Area, was basically completed, and it was opened free of charge in August 1999, with an average of more than 2,000 tourists every day and nearly 10,000 people on holidays.

Iii. Shawan Ancient Town

Shawan Ancient Town, which belongs to Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It has successively won the reputation of "hometown of Chinese folk art", "hometown of floating colors", "hometown of lions in loong" and "hometown of folk sculpture".

Shawan ancient town tourist area covers an area of more than 2,300 mu, of which the tourist core area covers an area of about 265 mu. Founded in the Southern Song Dynasty, it has a history of more than 800 years, is rich in historical and cultural resources, and enjoys a good reputation for folk art in the South China. In the development history of more than 800 years, Shawan ancient town has formed and retained Lingnan culture with traditional historical culture and folk culture as the main body, and is an outstanding representative of Guangfu culture with the Pearl River Delta as the core. It is rich in material and intangible cultural heritage resources, and a large number of ancient buildings, commercial sites and residential sites such as ancestral temples are well preserved. Guangdong music, floating colors, dragons and lions, orchids, restaurants and other folk arts and folk cultures are enduring.
