BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) The National Tourism Administration recently issued a notice on its official website, deciding to approve 66 scenic spots such as the Palace Museum in Beijing as national 5A-level tourist attractions.

According to the announcement, in accordance with People's Republic of China (PRC)'s national standards "Classification and Evaluation of Quality Grades of Tourist Attractions" and "Administrative Measures for Quality Grades of Tourist Attractions", 66 pilot scenic spots have met the requirements of the national 5A-level tourist attractions and been approved as national 5A-level tourist attractions by the recommendation and guidance of the quality grading committees of relevant provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.

According to previous media reports, 5A is a set of standardized quality rating system, which comprehensively standardizes from eight aspects, such as tourism transportation, sightseeing, tourism safety, health, post and telecommunications services, tourism shopping, comprehensive management, resources and environmental protection, emphasizing tourists as the center and people-oriented.

The National Tourism Administration launched the pilot project of 5A-level scenic spots, with the aim of selecting a group of excellent tourist products that are competitive in the world and truly become the benchmark.

List of 66 national 5A-level tourist attractions

Hebei: Shanhaiguan Scenic Spot in Qinhuangdao, Baiyangdian Scenic Spot in Anxin, Baoding, chengde mountain resort and surrounding temples.

Shanxi: Yungang Grottoes in Datong City and Wutai Mountain Scenic Area in Xinzhou City.

Liaoning: Shenyang Botanical Garden, Dalian Tiger Beach Ocean Park and Tiger Beach Polar Museum.

Jilin: Changchun Puppet Manchu Palace Museum and Changbai Mountain Scenic Area.

Heilongjiang: Harbin Sun Island Park.

Shanghai: Shanghai Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower, Shanghai Wildlife Park.

Jiangsu: Nanjing Zhongshan Scenic Spot-Zhongshan Mausoleum Scenic Spot, CCTV Wuxi Film and Television Base Three Kingdoms Water Margin Scenic Spot, Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou zhouzhuang town Scenic Spot.

1. Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area, located in the central area of Huicheng City, Huizhou City, consists of West Lake and Honghua Lake Scenic Area, with a total area of 20.91 square kilometers. It is a national-level scenic area and a national 5A-level tourist attraction characterized by elegant and deep landscapes, with historical and cultural heritage and leisure and sightseeing as its main functions.

Huizhou West Lake has a history of more than 1600 years since its formation and development. It is recorded that "there are 36 West Lakes in China, only Huizhou is full of Hangzhou", and it is famous for its six lakes, nine bridges and eighteen scenic spots!

2. Luofu Mountain Scenic Area

Known as the first mountain in Lingnan, Luofu Mountain is located in Boluo County, Huizhou City, and is one of the top ten famous mountains in China. At the same time, it is also a famous Taoist mountain in China, known as the seventh cave, and is also known as Nanyue Erqiao with Xiqiao Mountain in Nanhai County, so it is also known as Dongqiao Mountain. The mountains are magnificent and the natural scenery is beautiful.
