8. Jichuan Village

brief introduction

Jichuan, located in Shicang, Xianyou County, Fujian Province, is an ancient village of Han Dynasty with a history of more than 2,000 years. Jichuan is located at the junction of Xianyou and Yongtai. In ancient times, Xianyou swam into Yongtai and passed through Jichuan. So far, there is still a thousand-year-old road. The scenery in the village is beautiful, and there are many natural landscapes such as the thousand-year-old tree Zhangbaorong, the third-class waves of Yumen wonders, the ancient stone drum mountain in the Song Dynasty, and the ancient laurel of Hanqiao, which make people linger.

Self-driving:

Route 1: (Expressway) Shenhai Double Line (Fuzhao Expressway) exits Shicang and Caixiyan, passes through Shicang Township and reaches Jichuan Village.

Route 2: (National Road) Depart from Putian, take Laibang Line, drive towards Jiuli Lake, pass Zhongshan Town and Shicang Township, and reach Jichuan Village.

Ride:

Route 1: Take the shuttle bus directly to Jichuan at Xianyou Bus Station (which leaves twice a day), or take a ride to Shicang Township (with more flights), and then transfer to Jichuan.

9. Maixie Rock

brief introduction

Maixie Rock is located on Shishuo Mountain, 8 kilometers north of Jiuli Lake in Putian City, Fujian Province, 40 kilometers away from Xianyou County, with an altitude of 1000 meters. It is famous for its grottoes and is known as "Little Wuyi". There is a mountain pavilion at the foot of the rock, on the right is the towering Tieyi Peak, which is called the "General Tieyi" to protect the rock, and on the left is a towering stone cliff with the three characters "Qiaogu Mountain" engraved on it. According to legend, it was written by Yuan Shizu. There are many strange rocks on the mountain, some abrupt like swords, some shrinking like fists, some dominating like tigers and leopards, and some spreading their wings like Shan Ying. More interestingly, there are two stones in the east of the stream, such as turtles. One looks up with his head held high, which tends to swallow the sun and spit out the moon, while the other bows his head and leads his neck, as if he were hungry and thirsty. Continue to climb along the stone path with strange stones and ancient trees, and the peaks and turns along the way are wonderful. Many natural caves of different sizes and shapes gradually come into view. Yuquan cave is more than 100 meters deep, with flowing water in spring and summer, and it is feasible to dry up in autumn and winter. There are also Yinzhen Cave, Huanzhu Cave and Meihua Cave nearby, attracting countless tourists to stop and watch and imagine. Passing through the holes, not far away is Maixie Temple built with its back against a huge stone cliff. The temple was founded more than 800 years ago by Zen master Ziyong in the Song Dynasty, with a soaring eaves and magnificent momentum. A few years ago, it was greatly repaired and revitalized. There is a path leading to the top of the mountain in the northeast of the temple. There are many strange rocks along the way, such as lotus flowers in full bloom, monkeys holding melons, Guanyin sitting on the ground, or turtles and snakes meeting, which is vivid and dizzying. At the highest peak of Maixie Rock, there is a huge stone that stands in the air and looks like a clock. According to legend, whenever the weather changes suddenly, the ringing bells can be faintly heard in the nearby village, so,The mountainous area in that area is named "Zhongshan". There is another huge stone named "Astrology Stone" near Zhong Shi. It is said that Zheng Qiao, an outstanding historian in Song Dynasty, once lived here and observed the astronomical phenomena on this "Astrology Stone" at night. There are four characters and hundreds of small characters engraved on the stone, which are as big as dragons and snakes dancing and as small as tadpoles splashing in the water. It is said that they are all written by Zheng Qiao. Maixie Rock is also the revolutionary site of the 108th Regiment of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army.
