Travel on Ghost Festival

Blog / 11/15/2024

First, it is not appropriate to always talk about the words "demon, demon, ghost and monster".

Even if you don't believe in the theory of ghosts and gods, don't make a hullabaloo about: "I'm not afraid of ghosts. Come and find me!" " Wait for such words, not to learn "ghost", especially at night. It's not that you will provoke ghosts when you scream, but there will be ghosts, but it's a psychological effect. It's easy for you to scare people around you, especially those who walk at night. They are frightened and I'm afraid they will scream even more sadly. Because of the psychological effect, you run around in panic and pass by you inadvertently. Even if you are bold, you will be surprised to break out in a cold sweat, right? People are scary and scary. It's better not to do such a thing that harms others and yourself!

Seven Kill Stars, Defensive Stars, Wolf-hungry Stars and Lian Zhenxing are fearless, and the more taboo they are, the more they want to try. Therefore, Double Ghost Month should pay special attention to this. Not because of the fear of ghosts or ghosts, but to avoid causing psychological burden, or let yourself be quiet!

Second, it is not appropriate to buy a car, buy a house, get married, or move.

As the saying goes, buying a car or a house on a ghost month is easy to attract ghosts. Buying a car is easy to get ghosts on the bus and cause traffic accidents; Buying a house is easy to make ghosts red, which will make trouble, which is unfavorable to people and accidents; Don't move on the ghost month, moving is easy for ghosts to see and make trouble ... This is handed down from our ancestors. Over time, the established practice always makes people taboo. Why is it that buying a car in ghost month will cause ghosts? It is inevitable that you will be excited when you just buy a new car, and you can't help but want to go crazy. For a while, you forget to pay attention to people coming and going, which is easy to have an accident. The same is true of moving, mostly because of carelessness and too much action, which is easy to get hurt or have an accident. In fact, as long as you understand these taboos and skillfully circumvent them, you can turn your luck into luck.

Ziweixing, Tianfu Star, Wu Quxing and Tianxiangxing have a strong desire to control and are interested in investment and financial management, so we should pay special attention to these taboos. In fact, the ghost month selling auto industry and real estate industry is depressed. If we can pay attention to taboos and make clever use of the market, we can still make a lot of money.

Third, it is not advisable to go to the beach or pond, and it is even more taboo to swim in the water.

Why not go near water, play with water or swim in the water? The folk saying is: Ghost Moon and Water Ghosts are rampant. If you get close to the water, the water ghosts will see you and drag you into the water. In particular, swimming in the water will make the water ghost take the lead and easily turn you into a drowning ghost. This statement is very scary. Every ghost month, parents are most worried. They are deeply afraid that their children will go swimming behind their parents' backs, and they will be worried about their children almost every day. In fact, that's because in ancient times, medical knowledge and health concepts were very poor. In the hot summer of July, there was no air conditioning at home, so we had to go to the water to drive away the heat. In the absence of safety measures, and because of the hot weather, it is easy to suffer from heatstroke, swimming in the water is prone to various symptoms, such as leg cramps, sudden fatigue, lack of oxygen, choking, being entangled in aquatic plants, being attacked by organisms, etc., which will be life-threatening. Therefore, the probability of accidental death of Ghost Moon is particularly high.

Sun star, giant gate star and secret star are curious and like to analyze and study. Don't rush into the water just because you want to find out. If you want to swim, you'd better swim together or go swimming in a swimming pool with good safety measures.

Fourth, avoid wearing black and red clothes when shopping at night; Avoid drying clothes in the middle of the night, putting shoes on the bed, hanging wind chimes on the bedside, etc.

Wear black clothes when you go out at night, because ghosts and spirits like to cling to them most because of the dark color; For evil spirits, red is an unconventional color, which is easy to attract the attention of evil spirits. People who like to swim in the night street should pay special attention. Drying clothes at night, the humidity is very heavy, in the ghost month where ghosts haunt everywhere, it is easy to make ghosts angry and trouble you. Put your shoes on the bed or hang a wind chime at the head of the bed, it is easy to attract ghosts to sleep with you in bed, thus possessed by ghosts. In fact, it's not so scary, but these taboos are said a lot, so everyone will be on guard and even panic in Ghost Month. This is all due to people's imagination, and they don't know how to analyze things with science when something goes wrong, thus linking some things with ghosts. You know, there is no ghost with peace of mind. The more you panic and fear, the more ghost images will appear.

In our country, there are three festivals that can be called Ghost Festival in a year, one is Tomb-Sweeping Day, the other is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the other is the Ghost Festival on October 1. Together with Halloween abroad, there are four Ghost Festivals. If you encounter Ghost Festivals during your travels, can you still go out to play? Come and have a look.

Can you go out to play when traveling on Ghost Festival? Can't you go out when traveling on Ghost Festival?

Don't worry too much, just be careful when you go out!

The Mid-Autumn Festival part should only remind us that we can't really travel or anything!

However, you don't have to pay attention only when you go out on the Mid-Autumn Festival. Generally, when you go out to stay in a hotel or stay out at night, you should be more careful about your manners and actions. You don't have to discuss the existence of the so-called another world, or the mystery and belief of supernatural problems!

Don't be too unreasonable in everything, I think everything should be safe!

The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon. Many friends get cold in their backs when they mention this day, and they dare not walk at night. However, the "Ghost Festival" is not directly taboo and unlucky in traditional culture. Sacrifice activities in many places are not only cultural heritage, but also very interesting and worth seeing. Looking around the world, many countries regard Ghost Festival as a celebration.

You can grab the blessing products, participate in the "Ghost Festival fun run", carnival dances, and even have the mysterious interactive space of teamlab.

I. Hong Kong Yulan Grand Meeting

Time: the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month.

I always can't tell the difference between the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Yulan Festival, but I thought they were two festivals. In fact, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Orchid Festival are what we usually call Ghost Festival, but one comes from Taoism and the other is Buddhism.

The Yulan Festival originated from the story of Mulian saving his mother in the Buddhist Tripitaka, emphasizing filial piety. It just happens that the Ghost Festival of Taoism, a local religion in China, also falls on this day, so the 15th day of July in the lunar calendar is what we call Ghost Festival.

The Orchid Festival is the longest and widest festival in Hong Kong. Every year in the seventh month of the lunar calendar, many organizations hold a one-day to five-day Yulan Victory Club, with a total of more than 100, among which the Yulan Victory Club in chaozhou people is the largest.

Traditional customs:

Hong Kong's Yulan Festival pays much attention to it. There are three kinds of styles: Chaozhou, Helao and Guangfu. In ancient times, there were many customs. People would make soul-evocation banners, make sacrifices with various fruits such as pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks, insert paper flags on the sacrifices, and write the words "Yulan Festival, Ganlu Gate Open". The ceremony was very solemn.

There will also be a dish of peaches and rice scattered in all directions, which is called the flame opening; At night, families should burn incense at the door and put incense on the ground, which means that the grain is abundant; In some places, water lanterns are put on, lotus lanterns are put on, etc. Water lanterns are used to guide ghosts, and these customs sometimes appear in our film and television dramas.

What can we play now?

1. Look at the venue, please be lonely.

During the Yulan Grand Festival, many parks, squares or stadiums in various districts of Hong Kong will hold Yulan Victory Games. Among them, the hipster Yulan Culture Festival held in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay is the most grand. People will welcome all the gods at the venue, then invite "good brothers" to burn incense outside the cemetery and finally return to the venue.

2. Burning street clothes in the street

This ritual activity is very similar to that in the mainland, that is, on the evening of July in the lunar calendar, people will burn some gold ingots and paper money in the street, and also put some sacrifices, such as rice, to sacrifice on the roadside.

On the one hand, it is to let family members receive paper money and live happily in the underworld, on the other hand, it is also to comfort some ghosts and ghosts so that they can eat enough. Also, you can buy off the cow's head and horse's face and take away bad luck. In short, it is a good thing to pray ~

3. Go to see a magical play

The magical drama is very similar to the traditional Chinese opera performances we often watched when we visited temple fairs as children. It is very lively, and children will like it very much. People and gods enjoy it together.

4. Watch the government distribute safe rice.

After the sacrifice, the sacrifices on the altar will be distributed to the poor people, also for the relief of civilians, so these rice distribution activities are called safe rice.

5. Participate in the auction of blessings

This activity is very similar to the bidding we played when we were children. On the last day of the sacrifice, the organizer will invite everyone to sit together and have a drink, and then go to bid for a bid and buy something. The highest bidder will win, and this part of the income will also be used to maintain the expenses of the whole event.

6, the new game-sign up for "Yulan Run"

We all know that both the mainland and Hong Kong should go home early on this day, but! ! ! Does fun run sound cool on Halloween? ! ! Anyway, I'm not afraid of a bunch of people running together.

It is also an interesting idea to witness "birth and death" by running.

Second, Taiwan Province Mid-Autumn Festival

Time: July of the lunar calendar

Traditional customs:

Every July, all the merchants in the streets and alleys should put on a table and put on cakes, fruits and paper money. According to folklore, every year on the first day of the seventh lunar month, the ghost door is wide open, and the deceased relatives will come back to see their families. So the whole month is a day for family reunion.

On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, not only do people put sacrifices and burn incense in the streets, but the Taiwan Province government will also hold a celebration ceremony on that day.

What can we play now?

1. Look at robbing orphans

Robbery of orphans is a unique folk activity in southern Fujian. Everyone should have seen this in film and television programs. People who rob orphans have to climb the shed poles covered with butter and snatch food placed dozens of feet high and the wind flag.

2. Watch the fireworks drain lamp

There are float parades, water lanterns, fireworks and other activities in Keelung Sacrifice. You can go and see them ~

Third, the Japanese Bonin Festival

Time: July 13th to 16th in some areas, and August 13th to 16th in some areas.

ぉ Pot is a traditional festival in Japan, that is, the local Mid-Autumn Festival and the Bonin Festival, or simply the Imperial Pot Festival. In fact, the Bonin Festival is a festival of the Chinese nation, which was introduced to Japan in asuka period, and is also called the Lantern Festival in Japan.

Traditional customs:

On the day of the Orchid Festival, people have the habit of giving Chinese Yuan gifts, and people will gather in folk customs to dance a dance called "Penyong", which is similar to today's ParaPara.

There are also two kinds of festivals. Before the Meiji Restoration, the festival was celebrated on July 13th to 16th of the lunar calendar. After the Meiji Restoration, some areas changed to July 13th to 16th of the Gregorian calendar, and some areas changed to August 13th to 16th, which was close to the old calendar. (A few places such as Okinawa Prefecture and the Amami Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture still focus on the 13th to 16th day of the seventh lunar month.)

Japanese people attach great importance to the Bonin Festival, and usually take a week off, which is called "Bonin Rest". Everyone will choose to use this holiday to return home for family reunion and worship their ancestors, which is a bit like Tomb-Sweeping Day in China. I can have a holiday and celebrate it. Of course, I attach great importance to this festival.

What can we play now?

There is no way to verify the origin of this activity, and it is widely said that it was held to send away the souls of ancestors.

2, go to see the long _ boat jade festival

It is said that this festival was originally an activity for boatmen sailing in Arakawa to pray for the safety of sailing and sacrifice to the water god. Lanterns exiled in the river and boats with lanterns are shuttling through the Arakawa River.

The main activity of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the "singing platform" performance, which was once a popular entertainment form to comfort wandering souls. But today's "song stage"

Has been very advanced with the times.

Young and hot performers will not only present traditional songs sung in dialects, but also popular Chinese and English pop songs. The stars on the stage wear gorgeous costumes and give wonderful performances. At night, they pay the gods for offering sacrifices to ghosts with local operas, live songs and dances.

It can be said that everyone welcomes the July KTV, but don't take the "first row" seat, because it is reserved for "special guests".

V. Vietnam Mid-Yuan Festival

Time: July 14th of the lunar calendar.

Traditional customs:

In Vietnam, the Dai people also celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is one day earlier than the Mid-Autumn Festival in China. Dai Hao in the northwest of Vietnam will not only worship the village gods as a unit, but also worship their ancestors as a unit.

The custom of sacrifice is very similar to that of mainland China, and it is mainly sacrifice. Generally, we go to worship the village gods in the morning, and worship our ancestors in the afternoon. After worshipping our ancestors, the whole family has dinner.

When worshipping the village gods, each family can only send male representatives to participate. When worshipping ancestors, the whole family participates.

Relief will also be distributed in the stockade.

Visit the village

The Mid-Autumn Festival is also a day of family reunion. Usually, various sacrifices such as wine, pork, duck, cakes and dyed glutinous rice are prepared. After the sacrificial ceremony, familiar friends will be invited to dinner.

Because the Dai people in Vietnam are relatively isolated, various traditional customs are well preserved. You can visit and learn about the traditional Dai culture.
